If you’re like me, you have more ‘stuff’ than your kitchen cabinets will hold. Sets of dishes, serving plates, bowls… things that must be stacked in order to be stored!
I was emptying the dishwasher the other day and trying to stack some vegetable serving bowls in a cabinet. Some of them had to be nested several different ways before they would go on their intended shelf.
This prompted me to think about my life: my work, time with God, time with family, time for fun and creativity. They all have to be ‘stacked’ into a day’s time. They have to fit within the allotted time that we’ve been given, whether it be 24 hours, or the span of our entire life.
I lost my mother last February after a 16 month journey with cancer. In the months leading up to her death, we ‘stacked’ as many things into the days as we possibly could! We had a huge celebration for my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary. We had Sunday School parties and weeknight impromptu suppers. We had weddings and family reunions and Christmas parties. Stacking the moments up and fitting them in whenever we could. We tried to live life to the fullest, and in so doing honor my mom and my dad. No regrets. Living and loving fully.
My hope is that today’s blogpost will help you know how you need to ‘stack’ your day. What to put where, in order that you can ‘get it all in’. And above all, stack your life in such a way as to honor your creator, Christ Jesus.
Get stackin’ friends!!!
