Hi, I am Sondra Lyn. Yep, just one ‘n’ in Lyn. Here in the South, double names are a big thing. When someone uses your double name, you are either in BIG trouble or a member of the family!
It’s a name that belongs to me and makes me feel loved when I hear it. While I’m known as Sondra to most folks, it’s only natural that I would want to be known as Sondra Lyn on my website.
Now, the ‘at home’ part is another story.
After several years in the work force, I felt a strong leading toward something new. Working retail hours and most holidays, very little time was left for creativity for the sheer enjoyment of it.
Then, I lost my mother in February of 2013, and suddenly, everything looked different. I couldn’t bear to ‘go through the motions’ every day. So, with my husband’s blessing, I decided to take a HUGE step of faith, leave my day job, stay home and pursue my own business. Yes I said… LEAVE MY JOB!

Maybe together, we’ll even learn to grow things (I haven’t been able to get my thumb to turn green… yet)!
My creative interests also include painting and sewing, having designed and made my own wedding dress years ago.
My wedding dress… almost an antique!
Some things I like are:

old Ball jars with zinc lids,
baskets,
ice cream,
baking,
my Kitchen Aid mixer,
taking pictures,
dishes (yes… especially dishes!),
and…
chocolate!
I have been married to a wonderful man for 44 years. Together, we raised two lovely daughters who are now married to our awesome ‘sons-in-love’. Our eldest daughter presented us with our first grand-baby the same month this blog was born (June 2013) and I am positively head over heels in love with another {little} man.
And this little guy truly lights up our life!
