Oh, y’all! I am having such a great time with this blog! Several new posts/projects are in the works that I can’t wait to share. But in the meantime, here’s a quick and easy project… a DIY mini-coffee table!
Do you have need of a little bitty table anywhere in your house? I needed one for a sitting room just off the foyer, and once again, funds are limited (will that ever NOT be the case??).
Steps to a DIY Mini-Coffee Table…
The base of my table is a plant stand from Marshall’s (7.99).
For the top, I wanted to use glass, but didn’t want the expense of going to a glass shop and having a piece cut. So, you know those particle board tables that look like this?
They’re hideous, I know, but I have one! It kind of floats for different uses. Sometimes I’ll cover it with a pretty cloth and use for a guest book or a pretty arrangement of flowers for a function I might be hosting. But, I digress…
Anyway, I bought not one, but 2 of the glass tops (3.99 each, I think) to make the table top! Between each round of glass I put four plastic bumpers (if you look closely you can see two of them between the glass in the photo below). Then on the four corners of the stand I put some larger-in-diameter ones (I did get them as flat as I could find).
Then I just sat the glass atop the plant stand and … voila! A tiny table that works great. Place a few accessories on top and for about $16 you have a company-ready table!!
I hope this idea comes in handy for you, or inspires you to design a solution to your own decorating dilemma!
