Don’t you just love to make something beautiful? Even more so if that something is inexpensive??
It seems like everything has already been done with this versatile little piece of glass, but my first inclination was to make a footed candy dish! In fact, I wanted to make candy dishes of all sizes… short, smooth glass ones; taller, cut glass ones; even a candy dish with a lid, for unwrapped treats!
I started with the raw materials… candlesticks and various bowls/dishes, also from the dollar store (I washed all the pieces, and let them dry thoroughly before gluing, of course). Since I already had the E6000 glue, the finished dishes cost a whopping $6. The candy cost more than the bowls!
So this is the result… Now I have some pretty dollar store candy dishes in which to offer some treats for my sweet{heart} this Valentine’s day!
These dishes are lovely enough to be used in various ways, and for all occasions. But aren’t they cute for Valentine’s Day?
Included in the display below is an old candy dish that belonged to my grandmother. I think the new ones blend in quite nicely, don’t you?
Now. What are YOU going to make with the Dollar Store Candlestick? I challenge you!!
Happy Crafting!
