OK. It’s here. That wonderful Day when we gather with family and feast around the big bird. My favorite day of the year, truly!
I thought I would put together for you in one post some of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes that will be on my table this year.
If the turkey is the ‘bride’ of the menu, then the dressing is certainly the ‘groom’. For most of us, the two are inseparable. Whether you call it ‘stuffing’ where you are, it’s still the main sidekick to the star of the meal. Here is my very popular Cornbread Dressing recipe:
And most everyone believes that there is no better compliment to the turkey and dressing than cranberries. It’s like the wedding dress… it just enhances the whole experience! Makes the turkey taste even better. And, no- please don’t send me emails saying I’m calling all brides turkeys! Ha!
Here is my favorite Cranberry Salad Recipe:
Of course, to go along with the main couple, you need the entire wedding party. That might include: mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, other vegetables and salads, and breads or rolls. Wow, that was some ceremony! Ah, but there’s more to come. The pièce de résistance… the wedding cake!
OK, maybe I’m carrying the analogy a little too far. 😉
But this is a great cake. And your guests will certainly want to save room for the best ever Carrot Cake.
I truly wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy your turkey, but most of all, cherish and enjoy those that you love. See you next week for the Home for the Holidays Blog Tour!
