Happy Monday, Everybody!
Those of you who’ve been following this little blog know that we are in the throes of updating our former house to rent (not just to any renters, I might add… but to our daughter and son-in-love)! We finally did get the wallpaper border down in the master bedroom, and it is painted! WooHOO!
Next up is removing the rest of the paper in the master bath, painting, possibly painting cabs in kitchen and master bath, switching out or painting dated brass hardware… well, you get the picture.
THEN, when that house is done, back to work on mine! The room I want to start with is the foyer. So today, I’m just going to try on some Foyer Dreams for fun!!
While I’d love it to look like this:
This…
These…
Or this…
Alas, what I have is this…
Now, don’t misunderstand, I am SO very thankful for our home, and we love it! But, you’ll notice that the dining and sitting rooms each open up from the foyer, which leaves almost no wall space with which to decorate. And, not being sure there is quite enough room for a center table, you can see the dilemma I face! One thing I have decided would help is a wainscoting of some kind under a chair rail… either beadboard or paneled. At least this would provide some architectural detail and break up the very vertical short walls.
Well, anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed peeking at the foyers by other fabulous designers and let me know what your suggestions are for mine! PLEASE!
Have a wonderful Monday!
