I am designing a wall and had a need for a monogram in a frame. A while back, I found this framed fabric on clearance at a craft store. It might be some kind of memory board, although there is no cork underneath the fabric for pushpins, and no crisscrossed ribbons to tuck photos under, so I’m not sure what it was supposed to be!
But, I loved the french script print on linen and the black frame, so I knew I’d use it somewhere. In fact, I used it in my Christmas 2012 mantel. See it behind the reindeer on the left?
I also purchased an unfinished wooden letter, which was super inexpensive… $2.50 or so. I went to town with my black spray paint and painted the wood letter. The framed fabric piece was $6 and I already had the spray paint, so my total cost was $8.50! Here were my supplies:
Y’all this was almost too easy! After spray painting the letter, I affixed it to the fabric with heavy duty double-sided adhesive strips (for hanging). I could have hot-glued it of course, I just like to change things up and decided I might want just the framed fabric again in the future!
Now, here’s a little tip: If you have a frame you like, and a fabric you like, you can do this also!
Just either cut cardboard or use the piece of cardboard that comes in the frame, cover it with a great fabric and apply your letter! Imagine the possibilities!!
Wouldn’t this be a cute idea for a nursery or kid’s room? Or for a gallery wall in any room in the house!
Enjoy your Framed Monogram on Fabric! I’ll be revealing the wall this is going on soon!!
Update: Here’s the Monogram Gallery Wall!
Have an awesome week!
