You may think there’s not much to this post, and you could be right, but you don’t know how excited I am to find this gadget!
After swearing off sugar in this post, I determined that the best way to satisfy my sweet tooth is to eat more fruit. So off to the local fresh produce market!
Previously, I would just buy the pre-cored pineapple, although I always felt a little uneasy doing that. I’m such a germaphobe! Not knowing who had handled that pineapple (or what they had touched!) between when it was cored and when it went into that little plastic container always gave me the heebie-jeebies! They may wear gloves… they may not. They may wash their hands after handling other produce… they may not. Well, you get the idea!
Then I saw this gadget in the store and decided it might be worth trying!
Here’s how to core a pineapple the easy way:
You just whack off the top of the pineapple, put the gadget over the core and twist, applying a little pressure! Twist down to the bottom, then pull straight out! Press on the buttons of the handle, it comes off, and then you can just slip the pineapple off. And enjoy the fresh sweetness… knowing only you, with your perfectly clean hands, have touched it!! *wink* 😉
Well, as you can see from the photos, it worked great! It made the prettiest spiral slice of pineapple that can then be cut into perfect rings or chunks! Yummm!!
