How to Start a Blog from Scratch!

Today I want to talk about blogging. If you have ever wanted to know more about writing a blog, you’ll want to stay tuned. If you usually visit for the decorating tips and info, I’ll be back later in the week with more of that!

You might remember THIS POST, where I shared my blogging story. If you’re new here, I began my blog 2 years ago after I lost my mom to cancer. I left my job as an interior designer with a local upscale furniture retailer both to spend more time with my new grandson and to launch this blog, Sondra Lyn at Home (thus the name!).

As I researched this unconventional career path before its June 2013 launch, I read lots of material on how to start a blog. I gleaned much knowledge from one person in particular, who made blogging seem like something I could totally do! That someone was Amy Lynn Andrews. She is now quite the authority on starting and growing a blog. Amy, and many others, are contributors to the new Building a Framework package offered by Abby Lawson of Just a Girl and her Blog.

Abby has taken her blog from a hobby to a 6-figure income in two short years! While I’m not quite to six figures yet, I have learned so much from Abby’s book. I bought her book shortly after she published it last year, and found that it contained so much information that was either 1) totally new to me, or 2) what I wish I had known before having to learn by trial and error! Since she hadn’t yet written her book when I began blogging, I didn’t have the advantage of this valuable resource at the time.
