It is still January, right? Time for fresh starts and resolutions?
I haven’t made a New Year’s resolution in several years, or at least not formally. But who can help setting shiny new goals and dreaming big new dreams?
One of my struggles is, and has been most of my adult life, my weight. Or my (un)fit-ness. Or my lack of proper exercise and a healthy diet. However you phrase it, it all boils down to being unhealthy. While I’m not sure I’d classify myself as unhealthy, my activity and eating regimen could use a little work!
OK. A lot of work.
And now seems to be the perfect time to get started! You wouldn’t know it now, but I actually am a lifetime Weight Watchers member… I did reach my goal once upon a time!
But I fell off the wagon.
I believe I’ll just climb right back up there. On the weight watching wagon, I mean.
Sometimes I need a breakfast that is quick, yummy and nutritious that I can eat on the go. So I turn to my magic bullet and some fresh fruit and yogurt for an awesome kick-start yogurt smoothie!
I like to start with some frozen berries. Sometimes I add some frozen banana bites. Sometimes a couple of spinach leaves. And always a container of Yoplait Light yogurt! What I love about Yoplait light is that it used to contain aspartame, but no longer does! And the Weight Watchers points are printed right on the outside of the container!
Here is today’s smoothie recipe:
Ingredients
- frozen strawberries
- frozen blueberries
- 1/2 banana
- 1 6-oz container Yoplait strawberry yogurt
- 1/4 c. granola, optional
Instructions
- Place fruit in cup of blender.
- Add yogurt and blend.
- Pour into travel cup, or enjoy at home.
- Top with granola or flax seed, if desired.
Piece of cake, right? Nope, definitely not CAKE, but it’s easy peasy!
Enjoy your kick-start yogurt smoothie! See you soon!!
