In spite of the temperatures, Fall really is right around the corner! The weatherman promised!!
When the time comes for decorating with gourds I want you to be ready, so I’m sharing this wonderful way to preserve those pumpkins!
This simple hint also adds some shine to pumpkins.
Here’s the HINT:
To give your real pumpkins a pretty finish, give them a bath first in a solution of warm water, dish liquid and a capful of bleach. This will discourage spoilage. After completely dry, spray your pumpkin with a sealer to give a rich finish, as well as discourage the growth of mold, etc.! The sealant you use can have a matte or glossy finish… whichever you desire for the particular look you’re after.
Update: You can also use a lysol or bleach wipe to thoroughly wipe down the outside of your pumpkin to discourage decay!
Here they are in a fall mantelscape… in all their glory!
Happy Fall Decorating!
