There’s more than one way to use your noodle!
Everybody knows that, right?
Seed Packet Summer Wreath
Yep, this little swimmy-thing is a pretty versatile gadget!
End of season last year, I scored a passel of them from the dollar store for half-price. Yep, right again- 50 cents!!
Well, it turns out that you can make one of those foam wreath forms out of them by just taping the ends together to make a circle!
Oh, you knew this already, did you? *big smile*
When I tried to make mine a circle, it wasn’t round enough for me. So I had this bright idea to use a wine cork and hot glue the ends into the little hole in each end of the noodle… you know, for stability. And to keep the joint from being flimsy.
Then I secured the joint with wide blue painter’s tape. I wanted burlap to cover the wreath form, so instead of buying burlap ribbon, I simply cut some burlap I already had on hand into strips and wound them around the noodle until it was all covered up!
I knew I wanted a teal or turquoise ribbon around it too, to bring some color up into the center of the mantel design. Again, already had it. In fact, the dark teal was the ribbon that was tied around a 2-pack of pillows I got at TJMaxx! How’s that for recycling?? I wound up using both colors of grosgrain ribbon on the wreath.
After I had the ribbons like I wanted them, I added some floral elements to my summer wreath (already had them…):
And finally some seed packets! I did go buy those… all of them for about 1.75!! My wreath cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 total!
Hold on… I think I have a bit of straw you can stick in the corner of your mouth as you gaze upon my seed packet summer wreath! And perhaps some lemonade we can sip from a mason jar… Mmmm!
Go ahead and pin this image for later reference! Thanks!!
What do you think of my Seed Packet Summer Wreath? Do you change out wreaths for the seasons?
Happy Summer…
And Happy Birthday to my sweet, sweet grandson!
It’s his FIRST…He’s 1 today!!
Isn’t he just the most adorable little boy you’ve ever seen??
Let me know if you make a seed packet wreath! Toodles!!
