I'm all about thinking outside the box and I love the idea of creating a blue and white Christmas table. It even coordinates with the blue and white themed tree in our foyer! My love affair with blue and white received an added dimension a few ... Read More about Blue and White Christmas Table

When Life Gives you Lemons, Make an Easy Lemon Pie!

This Covid lockdown has a lot of people singing the blues. A great way to fend off the doldrums is to make something delicious, like an easy Lemon Pie. I can remember my momma making a similar pie years ago. She made a lemonade pie. I've made that too, but last time I made one, it was way too sweet and was a bit too tangy for my taste. So I went back to this classic 4-ingredient confection. ... Read More about When Life Gives you Lemons, Make an Easy Lemon Pie!

We All Need a Little Grace

We all need grace. Sometimes it becomes more apparent than at other times. There was recently a small misunderstanding in my family, and the need for grace came to the forefront of my mind. When I say small, I mean it. It was nothing, really, but enough to cause me to shed a few tears. That's not always a bad thing, either. Sometimes you just need a good cry! What the situation did was to ... Read More about We All Need a Little Grace

Easy Trifle Dessert

Packing a Handbag for Overseas Travel

Do you carry everything but the kitchen sink in your purse? At any given time you might find these things in mine (besides the usual stuff) including: clothespins, kids meal toys, business cards, (grand) baby diaper (unused!), and various receipts. In other words, sometimes my bag is just a mess of hodge-podge items! It remained to be seen how well I could succeed at packing a handbag for overseas ... Instant Pot Pressure Cooker | Getting Started

Yeah, I know I'm late to the Instant Pot Party. Well, better late than never, right? All I need are some good instant pot recipes and a plan to get started! The main reason I waited so long to buy one is because I don't want to get overloaded with the latest and greatest appliances. I remember years ago my mother-in-law had some shelves added to a wall in her kitchen solely to store all of her ... Read More about Instant Pot Pressure Cooker | Getting Started

A Visit to Royal Delft of Holland

The Royal Delft Factory was one of my favorite stops on our latest trip to Europe. Given my love for all things blue and white, this was no surprise! At the factory, we were given the grand tour - how it's made, the history, and of course, a chance to own some pieces of Royal Delft. Royal Delft, or the Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles, is the only remaining factory of the 32 ... Read More about A Visit to Royal Delft of Holland

Beach Baby Tips

On our most recent trip to the beach, we had to bring a little extra gear! It's the first time the whole family has gone to the beach since our grandson came along. And what fun we had!! I learned some things about babies and the beach: My number 1 tip is to set up some kind of 'containment' for baby! Crawlers and sand often don't mix well! Our little crawler wanted to grab handfuls ... Read More about Beach Baby Tips
